Even before breaking ground, the idea to forge a meaningful partnership with a program dedicated to supporting youth in the arts took root in our hearts. Recognizing the transformative power of artistic expression in shaping the future, we set our sights on collaborating with the Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark. Propelled by a passion to contribute beyond the confines of our restaurant, this effort goes beyond the transactional; it represents our commitment to being a catalyst for positive change in our community.
The Boys & Girls Club: The Power of Support
At the heart of the Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark lie a series of transformative initiatives designed to unleash the full potential of the community’s youth. The program offers diverse activities under five-core program areas: Character & Leadership, Education & Career Development, Sports & Recreation, Health & Life Skills, and the Arts.
Through strategic partnerships with local artists and other non-profits, the Boys & Girls Club has created a vibrant ecosystem where youth are not only introduced to various artistic forms but are also provided with mentorship and guidance to refine their craft. By fostering an environment that values and supports creativity, the Boys & Girls Club is sowing the seeds for a future where the arts play a pivotal role in shaping well-rounded, confident, and culturally enriched individuals.
In the Spirit of Artistic Collaboration
The young talents of the Boys & Girls Club, supported by California Bun, recently embarked on a unique endeavor. Twelve budding artists, armed with paint and boundless creativity, created a series of individual masterpieces that now adorn the walls of the restaurant. This initiative not only transforms the eatery into a vibrant gallery but also provides the young artists with a sense of pride and accomplishment as their work becomes a permanent part of the community’s cultural landscape. Customers will enjoy not just a meal at California Bun but an immersive experience surrounded by the diverse expressions of Moorpark’s youth, creating a harmonious blend of culinary delights and artistic inspiration.

Our Commitment
In a gesture of community commitment, California Bun is set to donate 10% of its proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club on its inaugural day of opening. This philanthropic initiative reflects California Bun’s dedication to making a positive impact from the very beginning, supporting the artistic aspirations of local youth and contributing to the broader advancement of the community of Moorpark.
